P A R I S.

Bonjour aime.

13 Rue Richard Lenoir, Paris, France. What a magical address to have!? This was our charming little airbnb we stayed in while exploring Paris last weekend. Though Richard Lenior came with its own set of challenges, like the washer/dryer that did not in fact dry our clothes, only make them smell like feet. Or spiral wooden staircase we had to drag our suit cases up 4 flights of. Or the rule of no streaming on the wifi, which meant no Netflix, only french soap operas..

After getting acquainted upon our rainy arrival in Paris on the 8th, we grabbed a BLT and french fries (duh) at a cafe and headed straight back home that afternoon because we were exhausted! We woke up bright and early friday and hit the ground running! We headed to the Latin quarter and met Harry, our tiny elf like tour guide for the free walking tour we signed up for! We were so shocked the tour was free because other ones comparable were around $50. But Harry was working for tips, which made it better because he tried really hard, like a little Jester! LOL! Our group first walked to the Church of Notre Dame. It was so breath taking because it was massive. We learned that it was set to be torn down by some ignorant king way back when, but luckily an old novel, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" made the church very popular and people sort of fell in love with it and saved the church. The original story, not the Disney movie, was much more gory. We decided we'd come back the next day and tour the inside because it's free. We moved on with our tour to the famous "Love Lock Bridge" of Paris. It was so magical! There were thousands of locks written with cute initials of lovers from all around the world. The concept is after you and your bae lock your love in place you're supposed to throw the key in the Seine to lock your love forever. We then walked over to the Louvre. The palace was seriously the biggest structure i've ever seen and I could never imagine someone actually living there, especially before technology. Its now a museum and we learned if you walked through and looked at each exhibit for less than 60 seconds it would still take you over 3 months to get through the entire thing! That concluded our tour, we were pretty satisfied with all we'd learned and popped Harry a $20 for his efforts. We then headed to this pretty little gal called The Eiffel Tour, she was exquisite. It was so surreal to actually be looking up at the iconic monument IRL! ( in. real. life.) We took took all the selfies (side note: theres a parisian language group that refers to themselves as "the immortals" and they are disgusted by modern words, like selfie, trying to disrupt the beautiful french language, so they came up with a proper french title for it. "qui pourtrait" - which means "ego portrait" Lolz. No shame in my quipourtrait. Ooo la la. At dusk, we headed over to what the locals refer to as the ugliest building in Paris (its a modern looking sky scraper built in the 70's and doesnt match with any of the architecture of Paris) and we watched the Eiffel Tower do her night thang! Right at 7 she began to glitter for all of Paris to see for 5 short minutes, it was sensational and i'll never forget the butterflies I got when it first came on and began to sparkle!

On saturday, Bai and I woke up and went to get brunch. We were determined to have crepes and boyyyy did we indulge! Sugary, sweet crepes stuffed with Nutella (Europeans go crazy for it), topped with strawberries and whipped cream. *insert drooling emoji* They were amazing! We walked off our breakfast and made our way back over to Notre Dame where we toured the inside, which was even more breath taking than the exterior. The ceilings were stunning and I wouldn't mind doing something similar in my future home. Just sayin. We snapped our pics for the gram there and left to go back to the Louvre. Shortly after we entered the museum we realized we were in over our heads to try and go through it on our own, it was just too big and overwhelming so we left because we felt like we were wasting time getting lost! I told Bailee I had one last Paris must do, which was the avenue that held all the original high end designers that I grew up learning and loving, due to my mothers expensive, yet fabulous taste. We walked by Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and I had a suddenly got a tad homesick because I'd wished my mama was there to experience that with me.

All in all, Paris was everything 5 year old Abbie traipsing around in oversized sunglasses and plastic high heels dreamt it would be. Off to Olomouc it is for these two blondes.

Au revoir,
Abigayle
